Rest In Peace...

Marci Carmen Silvestri died on July 12, 2007. Marci is survived by her mother and father, Eric and Tara Silvestri of Oklahoma City, OK and 12 estranged children in various unknown locations. Marci was known by many and loved by most. Although often mistaken for a mouse, she was indeed a Teddy bear Hamster with blackish redish eyes and blond wavy hair. Although Marci fought in no earthly wars she did fight in a battle for her life only to go home to her maker after 3 short years. Services in Marci's honor will be held at the home of Eric and Tara Silvestri in the backyard near the pond at 7:30 July 13, 2007. It will be a closed shoe box event as her family would like to remember her as she was in life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eric and Tara's bank account.

Anyone have any special memories of Marci Carmen that they would like to share?

Marci will always hold a special place in my heart and I am sorry for all our loss. I remember when she first became a Momma and the glimpse of happiness I saw in her eye as they ate their first baby cherry tomato. I always loved how she would stuff her little cheeks with lettuce as if she would never have another bite to eat again...

she will be missed. I'll see you tomorrow night for the services...

I'm sure there would be MANY more comments, but the tragic nocturnal reality of Marci Carmen's life is that to most of us, she was unseen below that lump of tissue piled in the corner of the cage!
Will you leave the cage in the kitchen and the pile in the corner as a lasting memorial? Did she go peacefully? Did it come as a surprise to you or was she a silent sufferer? How did you handle the loss initially? And now?
Finally, remember the stages of grief:
1. Shock
2. Denial
3. Bargaining
4. Rage
5. Acceptance.

I'm obsessed with you, too. I'm so obsessed that all I can do is think about you. It leaves me absolutely no time to call you... It's sad but I'm trying to work through it. I'm getting counseling and seeking other professional help so as to speed up this difficult process. Sometimes I have dreams about you, too. Pray for me.

This is just a post full of funnies! (Not to mention my own comment...) Everyone's crackin' the jokes and gettin' their silly on. I'm likin' it. Not likin' the death issue. Cuts deep. Real deep. Then there's my mom who recommends a movie all about death... Smart move... NOT. At least she's already in counseling...

A toast to counceling... and to death... a better life... See you in heaven, Marci.

well, i didn't know marci that much really. i only saw her when she decided to come out of her caged burrow in hopes for baby carrots and wasn't concerned if it was just a finger that she bit instead. i know she meant a lot to you.

so jenn and i were at barnes and noble pre-harry potter 7 and in the kids section i saw a little stuffed hamster. i thought of giving it to you so you could put it in her cage and have an eternal marci carmen... but i didn't.
